Whinny-Muir

The Murie-Wenstrom family singers, or Whinny-Muir* as they like to call themselves, consists of Robin Murie, John and Jess Wenstrom. This trio is known for their rich harmonies and fascination with bleak, powerful folk songs. The legacy of folk singer Helen Schneyer, Robin's aunt, is infused in the material.

*“Whinny-Muir is a dreadful place of penance in the Middle English ballad, ‘Lyke Wake Dirge.’ The resemblance to our last names is too close not to use it as the name of our singing group.”
