Traditional Singers Club

A Bit About the Traditional Singers Club of the Twin Cities:

Thanks for your interest in the Traditional Singers Club! We are an organization that promotes unaccompanied traditional singing in the Twin Cities. We hold guest singer concerts, workshops and monthly singing sessions. Since we began in 2005, our focus has been on the Irish and Scottish traditions, but we also promote some of the singing styles of the American South, (such as American Appalachian style singing) that are related to the traditions of the British Isles.

Traditional Singers Club guest singer concerts are somewhat formal gatherings featuring a healthy dose of songs from a master singer (often brought in from out of town) interspersed with songs from singers club regulars (resident singers) and, if we're lucky, some singers who just showed up and want to sing (floor singers).

Our monthly singing session is held on the last Sunday of each month from 3 to 5 pm at Keegan's Irish Pub in Minneapolis. The singing sessions are more informal. They're meant simply as places where local singers can swap songs and inspiration with each other.

We also hold singing workshops on occasion. Sometimes these feature a guest singer who is doing one of our concerts and sometimes we are able to snag a singer who passes through town with a larger group to come in and give us a taste of their unaccompanied singing expertise.

To add your name to the mailing list or if you have any ideas/suggestions for the club, send us an email at singersclub@gmail.com.

Now's a great time to start singing!

Cheers,
Brian Miller
